American Sentiments toward Younger, Middle-aged, & Older Adults

We find that, contrary to popular beliefs, Americans overwhelmingly harbor the least positive sentiments toward the young and most positive ones toward the old. This finding has important implications for our understanding of ageism–and who it targets–in a rapidly aging world.
